This unit focuses on propagating sustainable farming concepts that help protect the farms and livelihoods while preserving the earth and all its beings. Their services include educating and training farmers and providing resources required for environmental friendly farming methods that prevent assimilation of unhealthy and poisonous substance to the soil, water and air. Introduction of low-cost farming techniques paves the way to economic prosperity of the farmer community increasing food production and ensuring food security. Some of the responsibilities of the Unit are; making agriculture a profitable livelihood by infusing traditional know-how, preservation of seeds and seedlings and combined pest and weed control and the Unit act on behalf of the farmers’ rights and join force with the National Farmers movements to protect farming and the farmer.
